So just to be certain I've got this correct....

Errr no you haven't. No-one is asking to spend loads of money.

Its just the Blues actions look like balancing the books, when they are the ones SPOUTING off about spending big.

Approx figures.

Blake(1m) for Forssell(3m) = -£2m difference.

Savage(3.5m) for Nafti(750K) = +£2.75m

Gronks(1.5m?) for Pennant(initial 500k) = +£1m

Carter = +£1.5m

In £5.25m - out £2m = £3.25m available. Hang on a minute, that appears just the right amount to buy Pandiani and possibly Basinas (with 250k offer).

I just don't buy into all the boards talk of spend, spend, spend. Take off the blue tinted glasses, and you might see things differently.

Or failing that Proccy's thin skull obviously hasn't provided an effective barrier against the sun frying his brain.

:P

ooh bookem, wanna get personal do we??

just a few corrections;
nafti was £1m in the end
pennant will be £3m in the end
also, i believe we lost money on gronks
do maths at borstal did ya? ;)

it doesn't matter that you buy or dont buy into what the board says, just support them, it shouldn't be that hard to grasp...or perhaps i aint the only one with a fried brain....

I hate to bring this up but Bowyer would probably have been a Birmingham player but for a petition and now people say we need to improve in midfield.

Enough Said

say no more spot on

Actually mate it appears you were the one getting personal on your previous post refering to the doom and gloom merchants. So I'd re-read what you put before.

Just because people don't buy into the "Can't do no wrong Board, Bruce or whoever, we are ALL allowed and should be, even you, to post our opinions.

There is nothing wrong with voicing our concerns, yes it may be speculative, but at the moment its the facts as we know it. ...and does it mean I support the Blues less than you?

Have you never voiced your concern about Blues, on any subject? Surely not? You'd be the first, i'll tell you.

Oh and I did put Approx. Now where i come from, that does allow a bit of give in the figures, they taught us that at Borstal. You must have missed it.

But more importantly.

Haven't you noticed the mail from BCFC reads more like headlines from FansFC and Clubcall phone lines around season ticket time? There is a reason, and im sure you realise that yourself.

Now Bruce has stated that hed like to get one more midfielder in. Now, the question is, will it be a quality player, or will we go for the cheaper option? Lets just see who moves in the remainder of the transfer market and who we actually get.

yeah i was in detention the day maths was done ;)

i dont buy into the rather cynical view that they start talking about transfers and money just to sell tickets; they talk about it in january too, and there's no ticket sales to be had then are there?

i think its just the same pre-season excitement we all feel, and them being in the position of sanctioning the money - i'd feel pretty excited by that i reckon. but in any case, the future of the club depends on getting @rses on seats and for me i couldn't care less how they do it provided they do........

;)

Im not slagging the board but i think this season they have lied to the fans about bringing in world class players, i don't think SB has much money to spend thats why we have sold carter and blake, neither are world beaters but they are better than some, and as of yet not been replaced.

Its alright being positive but you also have to be realistic, the board have broken promise's before, re-building the main stand et al, they seem to me to move the posts (no pun intended) if it means they have to invest their own money in the club, i know they have before but they have had it back or are owed very little.

I'll wait til the season starts and see who we have when the transfer window is closed, but i really believe that the board and Bruce are pinning their hopes on Dunn recovering from his injury nightmare and actually playing the majority of the season, if god forbid he doesn't then they will have to get a footballing midfielder, something which won't come cheap and what we haven't had for a long time.

KRO

they hav'nt lied(as such) it's just that everyones personal view is different, the board would argue that forssell and pandiani are wold class, also players like butt and bowyer.

so it depends on what you think is world class

Great post booke-you are right mate in all you are saying.
You dont have to be a rocket scientist to see what goes on down there now.
Its all about making profit at thats it, no intention at all about trying to compete for trophies.
At least you are a realist.
